What we pour in Houston County
Most of our requests come from homeowners in the subdivisions between Watson Boulevard and Feagin Mill Road, the newer streets off Lake Joy Road and Houston Lake Road, and the new builds spreading south into Kathleen and Bonaire. The jobs break down into a few types.
- Driveways. Replacing a 1980s or 1990s driveway that has heaved and cracked, or widening one so two cars fit without a tire on the grass. See concrete driveways and extensions and parking pads.
- Patios. A 12 by 16 foot broom-finished slab for a grill and table starts near $1,400 to $2,200. Stamped or exposed aggregate costs more and lasts the same. See patios and pool decks.
- Slabs. Pads for sheds, carports, workshops, generators and hot tubs. See concrete slabs.
- Repair and leveling. Cracked, spalled or sunken concrete does not always need replacing. Foam lifting puts a sunken walk or garage apron back in a morning for $600 to $2,500. See repair and leveling.
Why concrete cracks here, and how we build so it does not
Houston County sits where the Fall Line sandhills meet the red clay of the upper Coastal Plain. The clay swells when wet and shrinks when dry, and that movement, not traffic, is what cracks most slabs here. A slab poured straight onto scraped clay will move with it. Our standard residential base is 4 inches of compacted crusher run over proofrolled subgrade, with soft spots dug out and replaced. Driveways get 4,000 psi concrete at 4 inches, 5 inches where trucks or RVs park.
We use #3 rebar on 24-inch centers for driveways and parking pads, 6x6 wire mesh for patios and walks, and saw-cut control joints at 8 to 10 feet so cracking happens where we planned it. In summer we pour early, mist the surface, and apply a white-pigmented curing compound. You can walk on it next day, park a car after 7 days, and it reaches design strength at 28 days.
Summer highs run 90 to 95 F with high humidity. Winters rarely hold a hard freeze, so we pour year-round, with the busiest months March through November. Ready-mix comes from plants on Foy Evans Drive and Plantation Road in Warner Robins and Industrial Park Drive in Perry, so trucks reach most Houston County addresses in under 30 minutes.
What a written quote from us includes
Every quote lists the square footage we measured, slab thickness, concrete strength, base depth, reinforcement type, joint layout, whether old concrete is being removed and hauled, and the finish. If another bid is cheaper, you can see exactly which of those lines was cut. Most quotes go out within two business days of the site visit.
We do not take deposits larger than a third of the job, and the balance is due when you have walked the finished pour with the crew lead.
Permits and licensing in Warner Robins
Houston County Building Inspection handles unincorporated county addresses. The City of Warner Robins, Centerville and Perry issue their own permits inside city limits. Replacing a driveway in the same footprint is usually exempt. A new or widened curb cut on a public road needs an encroachment permit. Houston County Building Inspection, 200 Carl Vinson Parkway, Warner Robins, GA 31088, (478) 542-2018 answers questions for county addresses. Robins Air Force Base is the county's largest employer. Many homeowners are on a three-year assignment, so we quote with resale in mind and write warranties that transfer to the next owner.
Georgia requires a licensed residential contractor on any job over $2,500, which covers nearly every driveway and most patios. Ask for the license number on the quote. Ours is on every one.

Questions we get asked
How much does a concrete driveway cost in Warner Robins?
Plain broom-finished concrete runs $6 to $10 per square foot installed, so a two-car driveway of 800 square feet is $5,000 to $8,500. Removing an old driveway adds $2 to $4 per square foot. Our driveway cost guide breaks down what moves the price.
How soon can you start?
Site visits happen within two business days in most of Houston County. Pour dates are usually one to three weeks out from an accepted quote, longer in April and May when everyone wants a patio before summer.
Do you pour in winter?
Yes. Warner Robins rarely holds a hard freeze. We pour on any day the overnight low stays above 35 F, and we cover fresh slabs with blankets on the few nights it does not.
Which areas do you cover?
Warner Robins, Centerville, Perry, Bonaire, Kathleen and Byron. If you are just outside those, send the address with your quote request and we will tell you straight away.
Can I call instead of filling in a form?
Not yet. Every request starts with the form so the address, size and photos are written down before anyone drives out. You hear back within one business day by text or email, and the contractor who visits gives you a direct number for the rest of the job.
Who shows up to do the work?
Sandhill Concrete matches your project with a licensed Houston County concrete contractor, who measures on site, writes the quote and does the work. The license number is on the written quote.
